I took their portraits a few years ago when he was in town visiting his sister. He's back again, so it was time for another shoot! Wow, how time flies! He is all grown up!

This was one of my favorite backgrounds I've ever had for a shoot. The vibrant colors are just gorgeous! And so are the subjects! :)

My work girlies threw a great baby shower for another one of our work girlies this weekend. I made sure to document the occasion, as I typically do. My friend Ally snuck a few pictures of me "doing my thang" as she so greatly put it!! She made a good point, I'm usually in the pictures, and there aren't many pictures of me taking pictures, so I figured I'd share! :)

Engagement portraits taken before the Christmas holiday! It was a brisk morning, but they were great sports!! This was a really fun shoot!! They have such great personalities; I can tell they're going to have a long and happy life together!

I photographed their engagement photos when I first started taking portraits... then I shot their wedding photos!

Now, I am happy to have taken their photos of their first Christmas in their new home, with their adorable pup, Kennedy! They are such a great couple and I'm so happy for them!

They had their favorite turned into postcards and sent them out as their Christmas cards this year -such a great idea!! And easy, too!

I took portraits of Sofia for her family's Christmas Card on the best weekend of the year! It was SO gorgeous outside!

The leaves were falling, and the colors were so vibrant. The sun was setting when we took these photos (as it tends to do earlier this time of year) and even though we were just around their house, there wasn't a bad place to shoot. It was just so gorgeous out!

Holiday Portraits

The holidays are HERE!! Isn't it crazy? I can't believe it!

The holidays are a great time to have family portraits taken. Of course, getting them done before it's freezing outside is always a great idea if you're wanting to have outdoor pictures taken, even though rosy cheeks are extremely cute :) Also, planning ahead is very important so you have enough time to have the photos edited, printed, and make your cards to have them delivered before the holidays.

Here are a few photos from the Brogunier family's family portrait session. They live have a beautiful home out in Mt Juliet with a nice big yard. I fell in LOVE with their barn out back, and loved getting out of the city for a bit to enjoy some fresh air and lots of land...It was a perfect fall day, and we got a ton of great photos! Even a few individual shots of the kids playing around.

This was a challenging but fun photo session, and I ended up really loving the outcome!

It was FREEZING that morning when we decided to go take photos outside at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center downtown Nashville. But little Madden was a sweetie and did a great job! This family is amazing. I just love them!

I've been so fortunate to get to document this child's life!

Capture Music City

I just realized as I was writing my last post, that I never mentioned that I'm a published photographer! My photos are featured in a coffee table photo book about Nashville called Capture Music City!

I'll give you the brief background on it.... :-)

Several months ago, I entered a photography competition called Capture Music City. Put on by the Tennessean, it was a competition where locals (mostly amateurs or "side-jobbers" like myself) could upload their photos in and of Nashville to be voted on, in hopes of having their photos published in a coffee table book full of photos "capturing music city."

So I entered a few photos and asked my friends to help by voting for me, and I made it in the book! Not only did I make it in the book, I got two photos in the book. It was such an amazing experience! Out of over 22,000 photos submitted, 880 photographers competing, and over one MILLION votes, two of my photos were selected to be in the book of only about 200 photos.

It's crazy to think that just a few years ago I took a cool picture and thought, "hmm, this is neat. Maybe I'll try and actually attempt to take a cool photograph!" Now, after lots of practice, money invested in gear, and a passion that I have "developed" for photography (pun totally intended haha!!), I have the privilege of being voted and selected to be in an amazing photo book of Nashville. This is such a huge deal for me. So thank you to everyone who has supported me by voting for me, purchasing my photos, using me for your events and portrait sessions, and also people who have just been there!!! You have no idea how much you are appreciated!!!

And if you are looking for a great gift idea or book about Nashville, this one really is a great book!!! I know that it is available at Davis-Kidd Bookstores!

I really loved this idea! Ally and Jamina are best friends from England... Ally lives in Nashville, Mina lives in London. Mina comes to visit, so why not take a "best friends" photo shoot! They will look back on these photos years later and reflect on where they were in their lives when these were taken!

Gasoline Studios

This is such an amazing room!! This is the home of Gasoline Studios, a great loft-style recording studio in Edgehill Village off of Music Row. Where my incredible boyfriend works!

I've done a few photo shoots here....but I wanted to take photos of the studio for the guys. I love this place. See for yourself. :)

And since we are in music city, if anyone is looking for a great recording studio, let me know! I know a guy!! :)

For parties and events in the Nashville area, my fee is $200 to travel to your event, take photos for a maximum of two hours, and provide you a CD of your files (edited, similar to what you see above) that you can share with friends and family and have printed at your choosing!

What do you do when you've purchased a wedding dress and then decide not to get married? You live it up and make the most of it by having a FANTASTIC photo shoot!

I love this about Ally. This is a time in her life she will never forget. About when she made a choice that was best for her. So why not document it!? I felt like this shoot was therapeutic for her, and for me. Photography is always therapy for me. :)

By the way, this gorgeous dress is currently for sale.... so if you're interested, shoot me an email and I will put you in touch with her. Only worn for this great photo shoot. :)

These were taken in a photo studio in Edgehill Village in Nashville. I love the texture of the walls and the windows. Ironically, that same studio is now my boyfriend's recording studio, which they still let me use for photo shoots!!

I really loved this idea! They had a very private wedding, so they had some family members take their photos on the special day. They asked me to take photos of them in their "big day" outfits, but after the big day!! It was so relaxed, and she didn't care if the dress got a bit dirty! ;-)

This was one of my first photo shoots. It was such a blast!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog! I am super excited to get this blog together and show the world my work.

Since I'm just now starting this blog, I will use my first few posts to remember my earlier photo shoots. Then, once I play a bit of catch up, I will blog about each portrait session and post a few highlights from each photo shoot!

If you read my welcome message, you probably already read that I am very laid back, easy to get a long with, and I enjoy making people feel beautiful through the art of photography. Everyone is beautiful. I feel that photos can capture the inner beauty in people that the human eye might not always see at first glance. Moments are special. Capture them. Life is amazing, enjoy it! Cherish your memories, as they are YOURS to cherish!! :)
